Speaking at an AIMA (All India Management Association) event, Nilekani underscored the importance of uniquely human skills that AI cannot replicate.
“You can have all the AIs in the world, but if you can’t get five people to work together and collaborate, then you cannot go anywhere,” Nilekani said in conversation with MoneyControl. His statement highlights the irreplaceable nature of interpersonal skills in driving success and innovation.
Nilekani further advised individuals to focus on developing adaptable capabilities that AI cannot mimic. He stressed the significance of first-principles thinking, a problem-solving approach that breaks complex issues down to fundamental truths. According to him, “AI is more mechanistic in its approach. Being able to go back to first principles and analyze something is something AI cannot do.”
