Kant’s assertion underscores the pivotal role of infrastructure in facilitating widespread adoption of EVs and reducing dependence on conventional fossil fuel-powered vehicles.
India has witnessed a remarkable surge in EV sales, with numbers nearly doubling in 2023, as per Counterpoint Research. With an anticipated 66 percent growth projected for the current year, factors like growing consumer interest, government support, and ongoing infrastructure development are fueling this momentum.
Kant advocates for a strategic pivot towards localized manufacturing to meet the escalating demand for EVs, particularly emphasizing the necessity for megawatt-hour charging solutions tailored for buses and commercial vehicles. Taking to a microblogging platform, he called upon EV players and startups to collaborate in establishing an interoperable fast-charging network, stressing its pivotal role in advancing the EV movement nationwide.
